Biography

Yulia Veld-Merkoulova is a Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Glasgow. She previously worked at the University of Stirling, Erasmus University, Rotterdam, and Simon Fraser University. She was a visiting researcher at the University of Toronto and Melbourne University. She has published numerous research papers in leading international journals and books in areas of corporate finance, divestitures and financial restructuring, risk management and risk attitudes, behavioural finance, and capital markets and investments. Her research was funded by the The Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO), Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Carnegie Trust, among others.

Research Interest

Her research interests include corporate spin-offs, mergers and acquisitions, financial restructuring, hedging and risk management, risk attitudes, household finance, behavioural finance, and capital markets and investments.
