Biography

Dr. Tamer Edirne was born in Turkey and graduated from Gazi Medical School in 1991. He worked in several primary care institutions as a primary care physician from 1991 to 1996, mostly in rural regions. He then completed a Family Medicine Residency program at the Ä°zmir Research and Education Hospital. In 2001, Dr. Edirne started to work in a small town as a family physician where he gained valuable experience at different positions in primary care services for five years. In 2005, he began his career as an academic at the University of Yuzuncu Yil, Medical School, Department of Family Medicine. Here, he published most of the results of his researches on various topics in primary care in rural and remote conditions. Dr. Edirne is dedicated to a lifetime education focusing on his particular interests in primary health care services, family medicine, CAM and cultural determinants of health. He is married and has two children. In his free time, he plays tennis and soccer and enjoys snowboarding and windsurfing.
