Mohamed Brahimi

Biography

Mohamed Brahimi MD. PhD. a Hematologist and Biologist was born in November the 9th, 1973 in Algeirs (Algeria). He achieved his medical studies at the medical faculty of Oran (1992-1999). In 1997, he started High University Studies of Biology where he took genetics as an option to his studies. In 2000, he started his specialization in Hematology, as a junior in clinical Hematology at University Hospital Center of Oran. He performed one year training on autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant at the “Pierre and Marie Curie Center of Algiers”. In February 2003, while still a Junior Hematologist, he was placed in the hematology laboratory, where he performed leukemias and lymphomas immunophenotyping by flow cytometry. Once his hematology specialization completed in March 2004, he worked as a cytologist at the central laboratory at Pediatric anti-cancer Center of Oran, where he reviewed blood and bone marrow smears since there was no cytometer available there.
He worked as an assistant professor at the department of Hematology and Stem Cell Therapy at University Hospital EHU1st November, in Oran with Prof MA Bekadja. In September 2009, they started to perform autologous stem cell transplant without freezing of the grafts.In February 2010, he received a promotion, as the Head Chief of the Hemobiology department. In Mai 2010; he received, with MA Bekadja the honorees from the “Algerian Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion” for his work on the ASCT without cryopresevation.
