Biography

Victoria A. Farrar-Myers, Ph.D. is a Full Professor and Distinguished Teaching Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at Arlington. She specializes in the American presidency, separation of powers, and campaign financing. Among her many publications, she is the author of Scripted for Change: The Institutionalization of the American Presidency, and the co-author of Legislative Labyrinth: Congress and Campaign Finance Reform and Limits and Loopholes: The Quest for Money, Free Speech and Fair Elections. Dr. Farrar-Myers has garnered multiple campus and statewide teaching awards, was inducted into UT Arlington’s Academy of Distinguished Teachers in 2011, and in 2012 received the UT System Regents’ Outstanding Teaching Award. During 1997-1998, she served as an American Political Science Association Congressional Fellow in the U.S. House of Representatives, and during 2014 will serve as the Fulbright Flinders University Distinguished Chair in American Political Science sponsored by Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia.
