Biography

Dr. Yokoyama is an assistant professor of Keio University School of Medicine in Tokyo Japan. He graduated from Keio University School of Medicine and received his M.D. in 1988. He trained as a clinical fellow from 1988 to 1997 in Keio University Hospital. He also trained as a research fellow from 1992 to 1997 in Division of Hematology at Keio University School of Medicine and studied the mechanism of interaction between integrin and ligands to clarify the mechanisms of thrombus formation and received Ph.D. in 1998. He continued his research at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla USA until 2000. He returned to Keio University in 2000 and currently working as a hematologist-oncologist and taking care of patients with both malignant and benign hematological diseases at an outpatient clinic and a ward. He is also doing clinical research on thrombosis in patients with various diseases.

Research Interest

Dr. Yokoyama’s research interests include clinical research on the incidence, prophylaxis, and treatment of thrombosis in various diseases, especially in hematological malignancies such as lymphoma and myeloma, and on the treatment of lymphoid malignancy with newer agents and autologous stem cell transplantation.
