Biography

Kalthoum Ben Hassine is currently being employed as Professor of Biology at University of Tunis. She is also the Director of the Research Unit of Biology, Ecology and Parasitology of Aquatic Organisms. Professor Hassine holds a Scientific Baccalaureate, License in Natural Sciences, Advanced Studies Diploma in Marine Biology and Oceanography, and Doctorate of specialty in Marine Biology and Oceanography. She is also a  Doctorate d’état ès Sciences in Marine Biology from University of Montpellier. She is the author of many publications in international scientific journals and of many presentations at national, regional and international congresses. Her dedication is her work is reflected in various publications in International Scientific Revues and communications presented in national and international congresses that she has authored. Dr. Hassine is also a Scientific supervisor of various subjects at different levels of mastery. she is also the recipient of various prestigious awards like Mérite de l’Education et des Sciences” decoration, 2000 & 2008, and the Certificate for exceptional volunteer services, United Nations, 2001. She also served as the President of the Tunisian association “Women and Sciences”. Recently she was appointed at the European Academy.

Professor Hassine's research interests include Agriculture, Sustainable development and women in sciences, Integrative Biology of Coastal Ecosystems and Natural Sciences.
