In 2006, she shifted her research focus and returned to Portugal to join the group of Medicinal Chemistry of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon (FFUL) as a post-doctoral fellow. In 2008, she was hired as Assistant Researcher at FFUL through the international tender Ciência 2007 programme and began her research group at the iMed.UL research center. In 2013, she was hired by FFUL through the international tender FCT investigator. she has an established research group of medicinal chemistry and several ongoing funded projects.
