Biography

Prof. Sy Duong-Quy has received his PhD from Paris Est University in the field of Physio-pathology. Currently, he is working as Physician of Cochin Hospital - Paris Descartes University and Lam Dong Medical College. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Director of Lam Dong Medical College – Dalat City. His primary research interests include the role of NOS/NO and RhoA/Rho-kinase signalisation pathways in modulation of vascular tone. He has received award from French Nitric Oxide Club in 2008. He is serving as an Editorial Member of some reputed journals like European Respiratory Journal (ERJ) and Expert Reviewer for some journals like ERJ, International Journal of Molecular Sciences... He is also Editor in Chief of French Vietnamese Journal of Pulmonology. He has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is an author of 4 monographs. He is actually Gold Member of European Respiratory Society, Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians, Member of Honor of French Post-University Graduated Pulmonology Association.

1973- 1980: Study of medicine at the Albertus Magnus University in Cologne.
1980-1981: Medical Assistant in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier).
1981-1982: military service as a medical officer of the Armed Forces at Army and Air Force in Munster, Cologne-Wahn and Nörvenich.
1982-1985: Medical Assistant in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier, Reichmann).
1985-1987: Research Fellow and House Officer in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital - Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA (Abbott, Darling, Brewster).
1987 -1992: ward physician in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier, Rehm).
1992-1998: senior physician in the Department of Surgery, University of Cologne (Pichlmaier, since 1996 Hoelscher).
Since 1998: Univ.-Professor of Vascular Surgery at the JW Goethe University.
1998-2007: Head of the center of gravity and vascular Endovascularchirurgie clinical center at the University of Frankfurt am Main JWGoethe.
Since 2004: in addition gGmbH chief physician of vascular surgery at the Hospital of the Holy Spirit, teaching hospital of the JW Goethe University.
Since 2004: Konsiliarius of Vascular Surgery at the German Clinic for Diagnostics, Wiesbaden.
Since 2007: Director of the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery of the Hospital of the JW Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main.
