I graduated from Trakya University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Soil Science in 1996 as top student of the department. At the same year, I both started to MS in institute of natural and applied sciences in Trakya University and work as research assistant in Trakya University, Department of Soil Science. I worked as research assistant in the same department between 1996 and 2007. I am working as Assistant Professor in Namık Kemal University, Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Soil Science and Plant Nutrition since 2007. And then, I was assigned to lecture for one week each within the context of Erasmus teaching staff mobility at Trakia Democritus University in Greece in 2011 and at University of Technology and Life Sciences in Poland in 2013. I was assigned for 3 months between 11 July and 11 October at “the University of Vermont” in Vermont-USA to take a part in a project called “use of soil earthworms in agriculture”. I served as project head and researcher in 15 projects supported by Tübitak, Trakya University, Namık Kemal University, Bilecik Seyh Edebali University and Bozok University Scientific Research Projects Units. I have 80 articles on soil science, soil ecology, plant nutrition, soil fertility, soil chemistry, soil-water pollution, ecologic agriculture, soil earthworms and fertilization topics as research articles and papers presented in domestic and abroad scientific meetings. Also, 5 of them are the articles published in international periodicals cited by international science indexes (SCI). I won 12 months research scholarship at “The University of Vermont” in Vermont-USA for the second term of 2013 in the context of Tubitak 2219 International Postdoctoral Research Scholarship Program.

Breviario D has a long standing experience in molecular biology and genetics of Eukaryotes including yeast, animals and plants. For more than 30 years he has been analyzing structural and functional features of genes and DNA genomic sequences. He has cloned several genomic and cDNA sequences including the following plant gene families : alpha- and beta-tubulin, annexin, calcium-dependent protein kinases. Rice (Oryza sativa L) has been his main plant species of interest, his main subject of research. Of recent, he has driven his attention on non coding genomic DNA sequences, particularly introns that are used in evolutionary genomic studies both as tools for establishing evolutionary distances (ILP for Intron Length Polymorphisms) and for detecting DNA polymorphisms or as tools for modulating gene expressions (IME for Intron mediated enhancement of gene expression). He is an associated Editor of Transgenic Research and acts as Referee for more than 20 International recognized plant scientific journals. He also acts as an advisor for the evaluation of National and International Grant applications among which MIUR (Italian Ministry for Research) Italian Universities ; CNR ; EMBO; BARD; NSF-USA, USDA, Newcastle University. He has been an invited speaker at both National and International Meetings and Congresses (ICGEB-UNIDO, Trieste ; NATO workshop , Kiev; International Symposium of Plant Cytoskeleton, Yalta ; AOX Symposium, Evora Portugal ; 2nd Generation Biofuels, Accra , Ghana). He has organized and chaired several National scientific events such as ; Expo dei sapori 2003-2004; Expo capitale umano e Innovazione 2006 ; Science for food-Festival della Scienza 2006, Meetmetonight 2012; Industrial Biotechnology PhD meeting 2012. Shabir Hussain Wani, completed his Ph.D. in Plant breeding and Genetics on “Transgenic rice for abiotic stress tolerance” from the Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana India in 2009. After PhD he worked as Research Associate in Biotechnology Laboratory, Central Institute of temperate Horticulture, Rangreth Srinagar India for two years up to October 2011. Since November 2011 he joined the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Senapati as Programme Coordinator (i/c) of KVK-Senapati (Farm Science Centre) Senapati Manipur. Now he is appointed as Assistant professor/Scientist at Division of Genetics and Plant Breeding, SKUAST-K, Srinagar, Kashmir since May 2013. He has published more than 65 papers in journal of international repute. He has also edited several books on current topics in crop Improvement. His Ph.D research fetched the first prize in North zone at National level competition in India. He got Young scientist award from the society of Promotion of plant sciences Jaipur India in 2009. He completed Masters degree from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibor Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur, Bangladesh in 2010 majoring in Genetics and Plant Breeding. He completed PhD from Kanazawa University, Japan in Environmental Sciences in 2013.

Dr. Dina El-Ghonemy has obtained her M.Sc. in Microbiology/Botany from Cairo University and her Ph.D. in Microbiology/Biotechnology from Ain Shams Univeristy. She is currently working as an assistant professor in Microbial Chemistry Department, Division of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, National Research Centre, Egypt. Dr. El-Ghonemy has participated in two projects titled "Production of therapeutic yeast and cellulases from microorganisms`` and ``Improving Biodegradation of Rice Straw to Produce Industrial Enzymes via Biotechnology Techniques. She is currently working in a project titled ``Feed and manure production from the olive by-product in Sinai desert`` and a copy investigator of a project titled "Production of L-asparaginase, an anticancer agent, from locally isolated filamentous fungi using agricultural wastes via solid state fermentation". Dr. El-Ghonemy has a great experience in isolation and morphological identification of microorganisms, optimization of physiological conditions for maximum enzymes production by different microbial strains in submerged and solid state fermentation using agro-industrial wastes, separation and purification of important industrial enzymes, characterization and evaluation of kinetic properties of the purified enzymes, immobilization of enzymes on different matrix, , electrophoretic separation of enzymes, RNA extraction and cDNA synthesis, PCR, qRT-PCR and Microarray hyperdization. She is a member of Arab Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Society and World Academy of Science, Engineering and Technology. She has been serving as an Editorial Member and also as a reviewer for many reputed journals (African J Microbiol Res, African J Biochem Res, J Bioprocessing and Biotechniques and SAJ Biotechnology, American J of Bioengineering and Biotechnology, Journal of Harmonized Research Publication and Science Publishing Group). Biography :

Srinivas Lanka is currently a postdoctoral researcher in a collaborative research project funded by the National Science Foundation, entitled-“Scaling up epizootic dynamics - linking individual infection and spatial spread by using a Bayesian hierarchial approach”. This project deals with a tritrophic interaction involving soybeans, fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, and a baculovirus, Sf NPV. The aim of this project is to determine how differences in food quality for herbivores affect transmission of a virus at different scales- from individual to epizootic scales. To this end, Srinivas is investigating constitutive and inducible resistance in different soybean genotypes against fall armyworm by measuring insect growth rates and food consumption. He aims to determine different biochemical correlates of inducibility in soybeans by using enzyme activity assays. The candidate enzymes in his research include peroxidases, polyphenol oxidases and lipoxygenases and proteinases inhibitors. His larger goal is to integrate information from foliar consumption and chemical induction to predict the probability of Sf NPV infection in larvae. Srinivas graduated with Ph.D in Entomology in 2012 from Louisiana State University. For his dissertation, he developed an applied research program to investigate various aspects of the use of neonicotinoid and anthranilic diamide seed treatments in rice. These seed treatment insecticides are systemic and have been used for management of the rice water weevil, Lissorhoptrus oryzophilus, in the southern US. His research revealed the potential for integrating seed treatments with non-chemical methods for integrated management and demonstrated the compatibility of seed treatments with crawfish production. His research projects addressed aspects such as biological characterization of the effects of each insecticide on various life stages of L. oryzophilus, adult susceptibility to thiamethoxam, patterns of distribution of seed treatment insecticides in rice and sublethal impacts of these seed treatments on oviposition behavior. To characterize adult susceptibility (LD 50), data on foliar biomass consumption by adult weevils from plants that received seed treatments were used in conjunction with insecticide concentrations as measured by LC/MS/MS. Plant growth-related influence on systemic activity of thiamethoxam was also determined by ELISA. These experiments provided a basic understanding of how both insecticide classes differ in their activity against weevils and in their distribution pattern of active ingredients in rice plants. Srinivas has broad interests in research with a focus on integrated pest management. His interests are on non-target effects of agrochemicals on beneficial arthropods and indirect effects of agrochemical treatments on plants. Before Srinivas came to U.S for pursuing Ph.D, he served in research and extension organizations in India. He had gained experience in field biology of insects in different field crops.
