Dr Pathak received her MD in India. She, then, pursued her Masters in Public Health from University of Texas Health Science Center. At the same time, she was involved in clinical research in gastro-intestinal malignancies at MD Anderson Cancer Center. After a residency in Internal Medicine at Rochester General Hospital, Rochester NY, she trained at Thomas Jefferson University hospital in Philadelphia with a clinical and research fellowship in Hematology and Medical Oncology. Her area of research is in hematologic malignancies particularly myeloproliferative neoplasms, non-hodgkins lymphoma especially chronic lymphocytic leukemia. She is pursuing clinical research with the goal of developing new treatment strategies for hematologic malignancies.
