Biography
Dr. Ronald C. Hamdy, MD, FRCP, FACP is Professor of Internal Medicine, holder of the Cecile Cox Quillen Chair of Excellence in Geriatric Medicine and Director of the Osteoporosis Center at East Tennessee State University. He did his postgraduate training at the University of London, England and in 1977 was appointed Senior Lecturer and Consultant in Geriatric Medicine at the University of London, England.  He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Southern Medical Journal from 2000 to 2010. He is actively involved in research and practices in Johnson City. He has published four medical books, over 150 articles in peer-reviewed medical journals and numerous chapters in medical textbooks. His basic science research is on reducing the impact of cellular ischemia.
Research Interest
Dr. Loewenstein research interests include metabolic bone diseases and dementia.
